Caring for merino wool
Care should be taken when washing merino wool garments to preserve their quality and longevity. Follow these wool care guidelines to keep your wool garments in the best possible condition:
-
Choosing a program on the washing machine: Prefer a program designed for wool. If this is not available, manually set the temperature to a maximum of 30°C and reduce the speed. Washing time should not exceed one hour.
-
Use of special detergents: Use only specially designed detergents to wash merino wool. It is also suitable for cotton and synthetic clothes. However, the opposite does not apply - products intended for ordinary wool, wool sweaters, or containing color enhancer, stain remover, perfume, benzisothiazolinone (BIT), methylisothiazolinone (MCI), vinegar, softener, are not suitable for merino wool.
-
Hand washing: If washing clothes by hand, use clean, lukewarm water at a temperature of approximately 30°C.
-
Drying: After washing, dry the clothes ideally flat or hung on the dryer according to the length of the garment. Do not use a dryer, radiator or iron to dry merino wool clothing.
-
Do not dry clean: Do not dry clean merino wool to avoid damage to the wool.
Since merino wool is a natural fiber, it is possible that the products may shrink by 2-3% after washing. This is a natural property of wool and is not a reason for complaint
