provides us with comfort in a variety of conditions,
protects our skin and adapts to the weather, making wearing clothes
an unmistakable experience. What exactly makes merino wool so special?
Let's take a look at its main advantages, which make it a truly
universal material for everyday wear and extreme conditions.
A few years ago, while preparing for a long trip,
we realized that we couldn't take a lot of clothes with us.
We needed something light, practical and odor resistant.
That's how we discovered merino wool, which we tested in various
conditions - from the heat of tropical islands to snowy mountain peaks.
This material convinced us with its versatility. Why? Because…
1. It works like a thermostat
Merino wool prides itself on its ability to naturally
regulate temperature, which makes it unique among textile materials.
Its hollow fibers create a microclimate that protects your skin
from external influences. In winter, merino wool acts as
an effective insulation that prevents the cold from penetrating,
so you don't have to wrap yourself in a lot of layers. In summer,
on the other hand, when the temperature rises, merino wool helps
maintain a pleasant body temperature, so you won't overheat in merino
clothing. It is ideal if you often change the environment -
for example, you go from the heat to air-conditioned rooms or vice versa from the cold to a warm room.
2. Warms even when wet
Merino wool has the ability to remove moisture from
the body and accelerate its evaporation. Thanks to the
hydrophobic outer layer of fibers, it can wick sweat to the outside,
but if it is retained by the outer layer of clothing, the moisture
is absorbed into the hydrophilic inner part of the fibers.
This process allows merino wool to absorb up to 35% of its weight in
moisture without the moisture being felt to the touch.
Even though it is saturated with moisture, it still
maintains its thermoregulatory properties and remains dry to
the touch, which is extremely useful for longer moves or in
adverse conditions.
3. It breathes on the skin
Although merino wool has a dense structure,
it is sufficiently breathable, which allows the skin to
breathe even at higher humidity. Its surface is covered
with microscopic scales that ensure air circulation.
Merino fibers have an irregular surface structure, which,
together with modern knits, enables excellent breathability.
This property eliminates the unpleasant feeling of "sticking"
and prevents the feeling of dirty or musty clothes even during
long-term active wear.
4. Does not scratch the skin
Merino wool comes from specially bred sheep that live
in the harsh conditions of Australia and New Zealand.
These sheep have a much finer wool than traditional breeds,
meaning that the merino fibers are thinner and bend when
in contact with the skin, preventing unpleasant scratching.
While traditional fibers are 28 micrometers or more in diameter,
merino wool is only 15 to 25 micrometers.
This softness makes it an ideal material for people with sensitive
skin, atopics or small babies.
5. Hypoallergenic
Merino wool is naturally hypoallergenic,
which means it's ideal for people who are sensitive to common
textiles or have skin allergies.

even when worn for a long time.

thanks to which it does not smell even when worn for a long time.
Odor is caused by bacteria that multiply quickly on synthetic
materials with a smooth surface. Merino fibers, however,
have a rugged surface that does not allow bacteria to easily
access the skin. That's why you can wear merino wool clothes
for longer without washing them - ideal for treks or long journeys.
